Common Reasons Umrah Visa Applications Are Rejected

• Passport validity too short: Your passport must have at least six months of validity from your arrival date in Saudi Arabia, not from when you apply. If you are borderline, renew it first.
• Name mismatch across documents: Your name must be identical on your passport, visa application, flight booking and hotel reservation. A single letter difference is enough for the Saudi system to flag your application.
• Accommodation not linked to Nusuk: Since 2025, all Umrah pilgrims must have accommodation confirmed through the Nusuk platform with a valid Booking Reference Number. Hotels outside approved zones or unverified bookings will block your application.
• Non compliant photograph: The Saudi visa system runs automated photo checks. Incorrect background colour, glasses or an unclear image will trigger rejection.
• Missing or expired vaccination certificate: The meningococcal ACWY certificate is mandatory and strictly enforced. Expired certificates are rejected automatically.
• Unlicensed agent: In February 2026, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah suspended approximately 1,800 overseas travel agencies for submitting poor or incomplete applications.
