Budget conscious does not have to mean far from the Haram. Several 3 star properties in the Ajyad area of Makkah sit within 400–500 metres of Masjid-al-Haram. Rooms are clean and functional. Shuttle services are typically available. You will not have a Kaaba view but you will be within walking distance for every prayer.
We recommend these properties for pilgrims who are funding their trip through our Umrah instalment plan, for larger family groups where multiple rooms are needed, and for those making repeat Umrah visits who are comfortable with a simpler setup.
What we will never do is recommend a cheap hotel in Makkah based on price alone. If we have any doubt about cleanliness, shuttle reliability or whether the property is genuinely walking distance from the Haram, we will tell you and offer an alternative.
Most Umrah trips include time in both Makkah and Madinah. We book Madinah accommodation separately and co-ordinate the inter city transfer between the two. The spiritual atmosphere in Madinah is calmer and quieter than Makkah and the area around Al Masjid-e-Nabawi has a good range of hotels at different price points.

For 5 star Madinah accommodation, the Madinah Hilton Hotel is positioned within a two minute walk of Al Masjid-an-Nabawi with access close to Gate 25 which is particularly convenient for female pilgrims. Rooms have views of the city and the Haram.

The properties inside the Abraj Al Bait complex such as Swissôtel Makkah and Pullman ZamZam are 150 to 300 metres away. Once you exceed 500 metres, a reliable shuttle becomes essential.
